Department of Clinical Pharmacology:
The Dept of Clinical Pharmacology was established in October 2012 with a mission to excel in clinical research. The department is mainly involved in Clinical Research including sponsored multi-centric Clinical Trials, academic Clinical trials & observational studies. Clinical Research is carried out in collaboration with various departments such as Cardiology,General Medicine, Obstetrics &Gynecology, Nephrology, Paediatrics and School of Biotechnology. The main focus of research is on the identification of novel biomarkers for the prognostication of coronary artery disease, premature coronary artery disease and early pregnancy loss.

SRM Medical College Hospital & Research centre (Kattankulathur, Potheri) is situated in the suburbs of Chennai, GST road (NH-45), 25 km from Chennai Airport. There is a railway junction (Potheri) right across the entrance of the campus. Participants reaching Chennai by train can board the “Beach to Chengalpattu” local train from Beach/Central/Egmore stations to reach Potheri station. The college is also well-connected by bus facilities from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu.
