1) QUIZ 


Syllabus: All subjects of First Year MBBS

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Each team should comprise of three members, one of which should be from first or second  year MBBS

Quiz is only for UG students and Interns.

There will be a screening round for all participating teams on the day of the quiz.

Spot registrations on the day of the event will be subject to availability.

Results declared after the screening round shall be final.

 

PRIZES:

1st Prize: Worth Rs. 10,000
2nd Prize: Worth Rs. 6,000
 

Certificates of participation will be awarded to each participant.



2) Case Presentation

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • Only individual entries shall be accepted.
  • This competition is only for UG students.
  • The presentation should comprise of only the relevant positive and negative findings in history, vital parameters on examination, general and systemic examination findings, differential diagnoses proposed, laboratory/special investigations, final diagnosis,  therapeutic/surgical interventions made, their outcomes and finally a summary of all the above.
  • Presentation time of 5 minutes on the day of the event shall be allotted.
  • The presentation should be strictly in MS Office 2010 or higher versions.

The abstract shall be in the following format with a maximum of 1000 words:
  • Title
  • Brief History
  • Diagnosis
Judging will be based on choice of case, clarity of thought, conciseness, subject knowledge and confidence. The judges’ verdict shall be binding.

3) Paper Presentation 

Rules and regulations:

The event is for undergraduate and postgraduate students only.
The student presenting should be an author of the research.
Topic of presentation should be within the scope of health sciences.
Both funded (ICMR/Universities/ other agencies) and non funded projects are welcome.
Each participant will be allotted a time limit of 5 minutes for presenting his/her research followed by a 3 minutes question and answer session by judges.
The presentation should strictly be in MS OFFICE 2010 or higher version

4) Poster Presentation

Only individual entries shall be accepted.
The entries shall be categorized by: 
  1. Medical I (Undergraduates and Interns) 
  2. Medical II (Postgraduates)
  3. Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy (Undergraduates and Postgraduates)
  4. Dentistry (Undergraduates and Postgraduates)
The topic for presentation should be within the scope of medicine and allied subjects, surgery and allied subjects, non–clinical & community subjects.
The qualified entrants have to print a poster with dimensions: 4 feet vertically x 3 feet horizontally and present it on the day of the competition.
Presentation time of 5 minutes shall be allotted.
The judges’ verdict shall be binding.

5) Symposium

The team should strictly comprise only of undergraduate students (including interns).
All participants are required to produce a valid college identity card at the time of confirming their registration.
The topic for their presentation should be medically relevant which can be based on any of the following: clinical, laboratory, or community and allied subjects.
Each team should comprise of a minimum of 4 members and a maximum of 12 members. Each team shall not have more than 6 speakers.
The time allotted for each team is 20 minutes. Marks shall be deducted for exceeding the time limit. This will be followed by a 5 minute question & answer session by the judges. The college identity should not be revealed at any point during the presentation or speeches.
The presentation shall strictly be in MS Office 2010 or higher versions.
If a member of any team is found violating any of the above rules, the team is liable to be disqualified.
The judges’ verdict shall be binding.

6) Medical Short-Film 
 

The concept of the short film should be medically relevant.

Each team shall not have more than 6 members.

The films shall not be more than 8 minutes in duration, including the beginning and end credits. Films exceeding the time limit are liable to be rejected.

The films should be subtitled in ENGLISH.

The films may be shot in any format. However, the recommended aspect ratios are: 16:9. Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV.

The recommended video file formats are VOB,WMV, MPG, MPEG4, AVI or MP4 (preferably MP4 or AVI).

The name of the institution should not be revealed at anytime during the short film.

Any clipping involving smoking, alcohol or drug abuse can be shown only if required for awareness/educational purposes and if shown, a disclaimer is mandatory.

The judges’ verdict shall be binding.

7) Debate

Rules and regulations:
  • Individual entries in the form of abstract will be accepted.
  • Topic of abstract is: Rural Postings - Duty or Debacle
  • Word limit - 400 words
  • Send the abstract on the provided email id. For sending the abstract, registration is not compulsory.
  • The top few will be selected for the screening round
  • They will have to register for the event and will be called to speak on a given topic on the day of the event.
  • Following the screening round, the top 4 students will be selected for the finals.
