Tata Memorial Hospital

Dear Colleagues, We are excited to announce the formation of IASCC (Indian Association of Supportive Care in Cancer). The IASCC is an affiliate organization of MASCC, dedicated to improvise the supportive care in India. The inception of the organization was declared last September during Best of MASCC by Dr. Sudeep Gupta in presence of Dr. Matti Aapro (past president MASCC). This organization is completely focused on supportive care required during cancer directed therapies. Other important aspect would be to support good quality research in the same field. On September 14 & 15, we are organizing the Best of MASCC 2019, India Conference. This MASCC/IASCC annual meeting will be held at Hotel ITC Grand Central, Parel and Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. The exciting program planned for this conference will have presentations, workshops, and discussions on treatments and techniques for minimising the symptoms of cancers and side effects of it’s treatments. The conference also includes a diverse array of presentations on the psychological, social, and economic dimensions of cancer diagnosis and treatment. The meeting will feature plenary sessions and parallel sessions for doctors and para-medics associated with supportive care in cancer. We request you to collect your data or prepare protocol for quality studies in the field of supportive care. There are many awards and MASCC memberships apart from educational grants for the researchers. We look forward to having your active participation in the niche field of oncology.

Your abstract should adhere to the following format:

TITLE : Your title should be as concise and accurate as possible. Good titles may ask a question, describe a problem, reference a controversy, summarize an experience, or even state a result.

AIM : State in 1-2 sentences the aim of your study. Describe the scientific context, i.e. why you did the study and include what the hypothesis of the study was. Novelty for its own sake without a clear justification is insufficient reason for a study.

METHODS : Briefly state the plan and/or methods used, i.e. how you did the study. For reports of clinical experience it is essential to describe the patient population and how they were identified and / or selected. For comparisons between two populations, it is particularly important to show how the two groups are comparable and / or different.

RESULTS : Clearly summarize the data, i.e. what you found. Use that format which most concisely and clearly presents your results. Abstracts must be complete and include data in the results. Abstracts that do not include results (“results will be presented”) will be automatically rejected.

CONCLUSIONS : Briefly state the implications of your findings, i.e. what the results mean.
