Inviting Scientific papers and E-posters for InSight’19, 38th Annual conference of IRIA Kerala state, hosted by the Kottayam chapter of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association at Kumarakom, on March 16th and 17th 2019.

Scientific paper abstract and E-Posters to be sent in the prescribed format to the mail id- . Scientific paper abstracts to be sent on or before February 25,2019. Those submitting abstracts for consideration must be first authors of the research, should be members of IRIA and must have registered for the conference. E-poster presentation to be sent by March 2,2019.

PG students of DMRD / MD/ DNB (Radiodiagnosis) / Consultants from different institutions in Kerala are eligible for participation. The areas in which the paper to be submitted includes all branches of Radiodiagnosis including Nuclear medicine and Radiation physics. 

The broad guidelines and conditions for Scientific Paper presentation and E poster are 
  • A certificate from HOD is required for the authenticity of the paper and poster for PGs
  • All participants should either be members or should have applied for membership of IRIA
  • Abstracts for paper can be submitted upto 25-02-2019
  • Those submitting abstracts for consideration must be first authors of the research and must have registered for the conference
  • All submissions must be original works of individuals with important new observations, and presentations that represent substantial work with demonstrable results are appropriate for scientific presentations. (Oral or poster)
  • Submissions that are not in the prescribed format will not be entertained
  • Please ensure that your abstract is properly structured with correct spelling and grammar.
  • Papers will be selected for platform presentation after initial scrutiny and evaluation of the abstract received before the stipulated time limit. The last date for submission of abstract is 25-02-2019. Abstracts must be submitted to
  • E poster presentation should be sent to before 2 nd , March 2019

The Scientific Paper abstract should be sent in the format below:

1. Title of the Paper
2. Author
3. Affiliation (Institution to which the author is attached)
4. Aim
5. Materials and Methods
6. Results
7. Conclusion
13. Word Limit: 250 (excluding the details of authors, institutions and the title of the abstract)
14. Font: Times New Roman. Font Size: 14  

Guidelines for E-Poster Presentation
  • E-poster should highlight a technique, concept or subject. Examples include review of a topic, pictorial essays and "how-to" demonstrations
  • All posters will be e - posters. File format should be PowerPoint (.PPT)
  • The first slide should display the topic, name of the author and address including Email
  • The poster should be self-explanatory. Text should be brief and well organized
  • The last slide should be for relevant references
  • Use Times New Roman or Arial fonts
  • Font should be no smaller than 14 points
  • Total size of the presentation should not exceed 10-20 MB
  • Maximum number of slides per E-poster: 10-15
  • All slides should be in landscape format

Guidelines for Scientific Oral Presentation
  • Aims and objectives: Outlines the hypothesis and goals of the study
  • Study design
  • Sampling and Setting
  • Methods and materials: Repetition of the experimental work must be feasible and the methods must be relevant to the study materials used
  • Results: Describes the outcome of the study. Should be as concise as possible in the form of tables or figures (Only if applicable)
  • Conclusion: Discusses the interpretation of results and their significance with reference to other cited work. The final paragraph should include a concise, succinct statement which summarises the significance of the results in terms of the original hypotheses and explains any unexpected results
  • References: Recent literature should be cited to support the presented material (up to 10 references). The accuracy of references is the responsibility of the authors. The list of references should only include works that are cited in the research text and that have been published. The information presented must be up-to-date
  • Abbreviations and acronyms: Non-commonly used abbreviations and acronyms should be defined
  • Total time for presentation is minutes - 8 minutes for presentation of the paper by the candidate. 2 minutes discussion
  • Authors of entries accepted for the oral scientific paper must be able to attend the meeting and be present to discuss their submissions
