Last week we took a poll to find out doctor's opinions on "Which is the most frequently prescribed Antacid in their clinical practice?"
And as a response 623 doctors & medical students took the poll, out of which 64.7% of were doctors & 35.3% of were medical students.
Major specialties that participated were General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology and others.
The majority of doctors are prescribing Proton pump inhibitors more frequently as compared to H2 Blockers and others as antacids.
Here’s a snippet of their opinions, in their own words…
"PPIs are more effective and less dosing is required" ~ Respiratory Medicine
"It has proven to be effective even in patients showing no results with h2 blockers like ranitidine" ~ Pathology
"Ranitidine increases the risk of cancer, PPI increases the risk of COVID19. So It may be others" ~ General Medicine
We have analyzed the results and are presented in the primer attached below.
