3 months into the Gujarat Government's free treatment scheme
The Gujarat Government earlier announced a scheme to provide free treatment for all the victims of road accidents within the first 48 hours of admission to any government or private hospitals in the state.

According to a Gujarat Samachar article, it is noteworthy that three months have been passed since the start of the scheme and the files obtained for the payment of more than 150 injured road accident victims in Surat have not been passed. Since no file is in accordance with the government's rules, it has not been approved.

According to the circular of the government, the accident victim has to send a file to the Accident Benefit Settlement Cell. The cell committee includes Civil hospital Medical superintendent, RMO, Head of Orthopedic, Surgery and Dental Sections.

As per the Gujarat Samachar article, the government has set up various types of treatment packages. But the rules are tough. So not even a file has been passed. In the submitted files, either there is no photo of the MLC registrar or the consent letter is not properly filled or X-ray is not included hence, files have not been passed as the required documents are not available to the government, doctors informed.
