A CASE OF CARCINOID SYNDROME
A female patient aged 55 yr presented to the surgical o.p day with a chief complaints of
Pain in the right lower half of abdomen since 5 months.
Altered bowel habits since 5 months.
H/O OF PRESENT ILLNESS
H/o of pain started insidiously 5 months back in the periumbilical and RIF which was continuous , gradually progressive , non radiating and colicky type of pain
Increased symptom of pain during defeacation
About 4-6 episodes / day
H/o of weight loss since last 4 months
Bowel habits are irregular
Attained menarche at 45 yrs of age
ILEUM: Section studied shows mucosal ulceration.
IMPRESSION : RIGHT HEMICOLECTOMY
HISTOLOGICAL GRADE 2 (G2).
TNM STAGE- Stage llla – T4 N0 M0
Surgical removal of primary tumor is the main stay
Lesions of SI <1cm in diameter , without ln involvement segmental resection
Ca. of caecum
Rt. ovarian mass
Tumor of terminal ileum
