A case of young diabetic.
A 24 yr old male student who is also a physical trainer by profession was recently diagnosed to have Diabetes Mellitus in July of this year with a fasting glucose of 290 as a part of weight loss evaluation (13kgs in 10 months). He was started on Glimepiride 2mg by his local physician. Fasting sugar was 180 in August. He is otherwise absolutely healthy. Presently he has regained weight (76 to 63(at diagnosis) to 69 (now)). He did a PP glucose without taking morning Glimepiride and it came out to be 478. He is otherwise absolutely fine.
What could be the differentials in this young diabetes?
