Adrenaline is the drug of choice in acute hypersensitivity reactions (type1) -acute anaphylactic shock. This is because it relieves bronchospasm, angioneurotic oedema of larynx, prevents release of histamine from mast cells and maintains BP in anaphylactic shock.
Given intramuscularly(I.M): 0.3-0.5ml in 1:1000 solution.
In anaphylactic shock, the absorption of adrenaline through subcutaneous route is very poor. Hence, preferred route is I.M

Adrenaline not only counteracts bronchospam/laryngeal edema but also downregulates release of histamine....Studies have compared the maximum plasma adrenaline concentrations in children through IM and SC route( average time through IM is 8mins and SC is 34 minutes)... so yes also, There is poor absorption through SC. Whereas IV route is associated with induction of fatal cardiac arrhythmias and MI. If it takes longer time to absorbtion that doesn' t mean that it has poor absorbtion. u r right it take long time via SC route it just mean that adr. will require more time to absorb not that it will be less absorbed
