Amitraz poisoning
A patient reported with alleged amitraz poisoning. Chief complaints were burning epigastric pain and drowsiness since 2 days. The patient inhaled the compound accidentally while opening its can.
Pulse- 52 bpm
Blood Pressure- 90/60 mm Hg
All systems were normal.
The investigations were as follows:
ABG:
pCO2- 29.8 mm Hg
pO2- 114 mm Hg
HC03- 19.2 mmol/L
pH- 7.47

ECG- Global ST elevation- Pericarditits
Serum creatinine- 1.1 mg/dl
AST- 46 IU/L
Random Blood Glucose level- 124 mg/dl
Creatinine Phosphokinase- 696.0 U/L
CK-MB- 11.2 ng/ml
NT-Pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide= 13.7 pg/ml

Q. Why was Creatinine Phosphokinase markedly elevated?
Q. Why was NT-pro BNP reduced?
