Bangalore witnessed its first robotic heart surgery when doctors at Aster CMI Hospital successfully performed 'four mitral valve' surgeries, with invasions as minimal as 2.5 cm to 3.5 cm.

Robotic surgeries have been on the rise as it reduces the size of the surgical cut to 5- 8 cm. It provides the doctors with a complete view of the mitral valve in the patient's body through the cameras and the three robotic arms, which work like human wrists, are able to rotate almost 360 degrees. This makes surgical process easier, precise, involves less trauma and pain to patient, reduces hospital stay and faster recovery...
