A new blood test that uses two protein markers is showing promise for picking up signs of Pancreatic cancer earlier. The blood test is still in the investigative stages but it is found that it works with an 87% sensitivity, meaning that's how often it can correctly identify someone with stage 1 or 2 pancreatic cancer and also has 98% specificity, meaning the ability to accurately rule out cancer in a person who doesn't have it. It would be cheap, conveniently assayed in the blood and uses conventional methods generally used by diagnostic centres so it could detect at early stages...
