COVID-19 Update, Global to Local, 26th August
In COVID-19, with 66873 new cases, India tops with comfortable margin of 20K to 26K over top two USA and Brazil. Numbers increased, as testing has increased.
It's number 3 in daily deaths but in 3-day average its number 1. We must learn from Russia which is at no. 4 & South Africa at no. 5 as they kept COVID infections & death rates in control. South Africa after its spike of 22-26 July, has consistently brought down numbers.
In Indian scenario, on 25th August:
-- Total tests done were 925K.
-- Maharashtra continues to top with 10425 cases.
-- But, the most important parameter to gauge the speed of the epidemic, the new cases per million, AP tops with 150% margin followed by aggressive Karnataka with 60% margin over Maharashtra, Tamilnadu next.
-- In India per million population Covid19 cases, smaller cities continue to be agressive pan India.
-- Mumbai pushed to 8 and Delhi 16, both unimaginable.
-- Kamrup (Guwahati) tops in total cases per million.
-- In new cases per million population, Pudduchery 552 per million (worrisome) tops followed by Kamrup, Pune, East Godavari and Bengaluru.
In the national scenario, lots of ups-down are expected in coming days-weeks. Though Delhi tops in total cases, Pune at no.2 currently, is likely to take over Delhi in a week.
Similarly Chennai, Bengaluru & Hyderabad will takeover each other and cross Mumbai too. Even, Thane may takeover Mumbai, making Mumbai 3rd raking city in state of Maharashtra after Pune and Thane in Covid 19 cases.
