In recent years, the incidental detection of renal cortical tumours has been increasing. Although surgery remains the reference standard for treatment of these tumors, avoidance of surgery would be desirable for many patients (in particular, elderly patients with existing medical comorbidities and a high risk of experiencing perioperative complications Thus, there is a great need for a reliable means of assessing the risk posed by a renal tumor, which would not only help in selecting the therapeutic approach but would also be of value in patient counseling. In addition, precise risk assessment could also help in selecting follow-up strategies for patients undergoing surgical resection of the tumour.The objective of this study was to investigate associations between CT features and survival in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
