A very good question my dear , it is more efficacious that Prasugrel for starters . Secondary PTCA , is a procedure of semi-emergent to emergent order - for which the Intravenous dose for prasugrel has to be administered in two or three divided doses wherein between the first two there must be a difference of Sixty Minutes and the third must be administered 30 minutes after the second dose has been administrated so , all in all the patient preparation take about 90 minutes itself - time which a patient may not have at hand due to emergency of the disease . Prasugrel on the other hand can be administered under 10 seconds , with relatively faster onset of action. Thirdly Clopedogrel has drug interactions of Pharmacokinetic nature with Omeperazole due to CYP2C19 and CYP2A4 common metabolic enzyme . Prasugrel although metabolised by the same enzyme , has negligible interaction with Omeperazole. That' s it. Thank You.... Read more
