Delhi government announces reward scheme for pre-natal sex t
The Delhi Government approved informer reward scheme for both informers and decoys for informing unregistered center or machine involved in pre-natal sex determination.

With an aim to promote 'gender equality' and remove deep-rooted prejudice and discrimination against the girl child, the State Cabinet approved the 'Department of Health proposal of informer reward scheme' under Pre Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994 Act.

Under the scheme, reward money of Rs. 50,000 will be given to the informer for informing about the unregistered centre or machine or any other information pertaining to a violation of PC and PNDT act.

Also, the reward amount of Rs. 1,50,000 will be given to decoy pregnant lady (decoy customer) on the successful completion of decoy/sting operation for exposing such illegal activities. They shall be also honoured with a certificate signed by Delhi CM for their participation.

Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994 (PC-PNDT) is an act enacted to ban the use of sex selection techniques after conception and prevent the misuse of prenatal diagnostic technique for sex-selective abortions.
