India on Thursday(2 July) opened the country's first blood plasma bank in the capital New Delhi to improve access to blood plasma required in the treatment of novel coronavirus patients.

Addressing a digital press briefing, Mr Kejriwal said there are few conditions the donor needs to fulfil: Recovered from COVID-19; between 18-60 years; weigh above 50 kgs & need to have been virus-free for over 14 days

People with co-morbidities (diabetes, hypertension, cancer) cannot donate plasma.

For those wanting plasma, the CM said that the hospital will contact the plasma bank (ILBS Hospital) and plasma shall be provided to the hospitals on the basis of the doctor’s prescriptions.

He also launched two helpline numbers for those who would like to donate plasma – "Call us at 1031 or you can WhatsApp us at 8800007722. Our doctors will get in touch with you to further confirm your eligibility,” Kejriwal said.
