Doctors to shut hospitals in protest today
Following the killing of Dr S K Singh in Jashpur, the Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS), an association of government doctors of Uttarakhand, is planning to go on strike across the state will remain shut on Thursday, and only emergency and post-mortem unit will remain open.
Doctors said that they might even shut down emergency services and go on an indefinite strike if the administration fails to nab the culprits. "We will go on an indefinite strike if our deceased colleague doesn't get justice. The culprit should be nabbed immediately." said Dr S Goswami, president, PMHS. It is noteworthy that the deceased was tagged as one of the finest doctors of Udham Singh Nagar and was a 1994 Uttar Pradesh cadre doctor.
