Bone metastases originating from esophageal cancer are uncommon and occur in about 9% of newly diagnosed patients, and prognosis is poor. Generally, treatment for cancer patients with distant metastasis differs from that for patients without distant metastasis.Therefore, diagnosis of metastasis is important for treatment planning, especially when it is difficult to diagnose bone metastasis from magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography (PET).Spinal bone marrow hyperplasia can mimic bone metastasis on MRI and fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-PET, which can affect patient management.Here, we report a case of esophageal cancer with bone marrow hyperplasia mimicking bone metastasis....
