Exercise More Important Than Weight Loss For Longer Life
A study analyzed the results of hundreds of previous studies of weight loss and workouts in men and women and found that obese people typically lower their risks of heart disease and premature death far more by gaining fitness than by dropping weight or dieting. Data was obtained from more than 200 studies which was included for the involving tens of thousands of men and women, most of them obese, indicated about the relative benefits of losing weight or getting fit for improving metabolisms and longevity. It was found that sedentary, obese men and women who begin to exercise and improve their fitness can lower their risk of premature death by as much as 30 percent or more, even if their weight does not budge. It was concluded that an individual can be healthy at any weight, if they are also active enough and the mortality risk can be reduced by increasing physical activity.
