According to a large study published in Lancet Regional Health - America’s, pregnant women who contract COVID-19 have a higher risk of having a very preterm birth, as well as any preterm birth. There is a 60% higher risk of very premature birth which occurs at less than 32 weeks of gestation, for people infected with COVID-19 at some point in their pregnancy. While the risk of giving birth at less than 37 weeks was 40% higher in those with infection.
