COVID-19 has been linked to persistent cognitive deficits, including the acceleration of Alzheimer's disease pathology and symptoms, according to new research presented at the AAIC® 2021. According to the study, the pandemic could result in a considerable increase in dementia sufferers in the long run. The AAIC® is encouraging the WHO and governments all around the world to “urgently accelerate studies on the potential influence of COVID-19 on rising dementia rates.” According to ADI, dementia cases could increase from 55 million to 78 million by 2030, even before Covid-19.
