#Flash: Eye conditions are linked with increased Risk of Dem
The purpose of this study was to look at the independent and interacting relationships between ocular and systemic diseases and incident dementia. There were 12364 adults included in the study. There were 2304 cases of incident dementia, according to the findings. Diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and depression were all linked to an elevated risk of dementia at the start of the study. Dementia was 1.19–2.29 times more prevalent in people who had cataracts and  a systemic disease. Alzheimer's disease, cataracts, and DRED, but not glaucoma, are all linked to a higher risk of dementia.
