According to late breaking research presented in a Hot Line session today at ESC Congress 2021, influenza vaccination lowers the risk of all-cause death, myocardial infarction, or stent thrombosis in hospitalised patients with myocardial infarction or high-risk coronary disease at 12 months. In a news release, Ole Fröbert, MD, of Orebro University in Sweden, said, "Findings from research imply that influenza vaccination should be considered as part of in-hospital treatment after myocardial infarction."
