According to a new study, India produced the most social media misinformation on COVID-19 as a result of the country's increased internet penetration rate, increasing social media consumption, and people' lack of internet literacy. The report was published in Sage's International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions journal. India (15.94 percent), the United States (9.74 percent), Brazil (8.57 percent), and Spain (8.03 percent) are the four countries with the most misinformation, according to the findings. Also, the prevalence of COVID-19 misinformation is thought to have a positive relationship with the pandemic scenario.
