Scientists at Duke-NUS Medical School investigated the prospect of eliciting pan-sarbecovirus neutralising antibodies that can inhibit the common human ACE2-virus interaction, providing protection against all known and unknown SARS-CoV-2 VOCs as well as future sarbecoviruses. Sarbecoviruses are a group of viruses that can spread from animals to humans, perhaps causing the next pandemic. This research could lead to the development of a highly promising preventive vaccine against future coronavirus pandemics.
