SII Chairman Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla stated that administering two different Covid-19 vaccinations for better efficacy was not in his opinion. He added that, in field experiments involving thousands of people, the efficacy of this strategy has not been established.

If cocktail vaccines are used and the results are poor, SII may claim that another vaccine was defective; conversely, the other firm may claim that because you mixed Serum's vaccine, it did not provide the desired results," Poonawalla explained.
