#Flash: Scientist Grew “Mini Brains”, Sorts of Developed Eye
Jay Gopalakrishnan, a neuroscientist at the University Hospital Düsseldorf in Germany, conducted a fascinating study in which he grew micro brains in a lab from stem cells. These human-derived brain organoids were discovered to evolve into rudimentary eye structures on their own. This remarkable finding will help in the better understanding of eye differentiation and development, eye diseases, study of brain-eye interactions during embryo development, the modelling of congenital retinal disorders, and for drug testing and transplantation therapies.
