Full term c section baby boy, 2.7kgs. Feeding well n pooping well. Crying is normal. Breathing well. Was refered because he is not opening his eyes since birth. After retracting lids there was whitish layer of discharge at the apertures. (Sticky). Conjunctiva was clear(very less part of it was visible). Cornea was clear, pupil was reacting to light n was small in size. Since there was discharge I prescribed oint and eye drop tobramycin BD n to keep under observation.

Will see him after ten days from today. Hoping he will be better and should open his eyes by his month. He did not have other congenital anomaly except no developed eye lash or eyebrow or scalp hair n even the nails had not developed well. I would really like any paediatrician opinion here.

...had a patient in recent past. was a premature delivered by some unqualified nurse at her ' clinic' ....baby was admitted to a level 3 neonatal care center..baby survived but the infection of an eye worsened & ultimately had panopthalmitis....unfortunately enough, baby list the eye.. I' m sure, you must have the paediatric opthalmologist...
