Union minister of state for health and family welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey assured the members of Indian Medical Association (IMA) to begin the process to review the Clinical Establishment Act 2010 before the coming winter session of Parliament. A committee will be formed for the same.

Under the current act, in order to set up a clinical establishment, at least 25 NOCs are required but the IMA members want to make it hassle free by providing a single window system to avail the NOCs . The IMA has also been opposing the provision which allows inclusion of a police inspector in the district registry authority as the provision of keeping "qualified paramedical staff" at all hospitals would close down many private clinical establishments and nursing homes as qualified staff are not easily available and they charge more...
