Calcification is often observed in thyroid, breast, and ovarian carcinomas as well as brain tumors; however, ossification is rare in gastrointestinal tract malignancies. Moreover, ossification in colorectal carcinoma is decidedly rare and has not been elucidated with regard to malignity and histogenesis.
