In a first, 101-year-old undergoes hernia surgery at Apollo
A 101-year-old man from Mumbai underwent hernia surgery successfully at Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai. According to the hospital it’s the first time a person over 100 was operated on for hernia in India. The surgery was performed by a team of laparoscopic surgeons at Apollo Hospitals in October.

Ram Chandra, a retired Tahsildar from Belgaum, settled in Navi Mumbai, was determined to undergo the complex surgery in spite his age. Chandra was diagnosed with hernia at the age of 90. He was brought to the hospital in a lot of pain due to irreducible groin hernia. It had become difficult for him to manage his daily activities....
