Indian Orthopedic Association (IOA) president Dr Ram Y Prabhoo on Thursday said that country's apex body of orthopedic surgeons is working with the Union government for rationalization and price fixation of implants, thus making available cheaper and quality products to patients.
The association is currently in the process of formulating guidelines for rationalizing the prices of the implants. Unlike stents, which have a limited number of categories, there is a vast range of orthopedic implants ranging from joints to steel and alloy implants to stabilize fractures.
