Implantation of a collagen copolymer phakic intraocular lens (pIOL) (Visian ICL) for the refractive correction of high myopia is widely performed and is regarded as a safe and effective procedure. Although rare, sight-threatening complications can occur and are challenging to manage. We present a rare case of uveitis with refractory secondary glaucoma following pIOL surgery that warranted trabeculectomy with pIOL explantation in 1 eye.
