Since only a meager percentage of children in the age bracket of 0-5 years have Aadhar cards in the country, the Maharashtra Government has taken an initiative to start the enrollment at the hospitals directly. For this purpose, the government has also issued guidelines to district and state hospitals.

A state government directive stated that tablet-based enrolment kits are being given to MahaOnline or other state-appointed enrolment agencies at certain government hospitals and health centers. The child's enrollment will be attached to the Aadhaar number of either parent and will create records since the birth of the child in a single database...
