Marketers equally responsible as manufacturer to ensure qual
In a recent notification released by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules says that

"Any marketer who sells or distributes any drug shall be
responsible for quality of that drug as well as other regulatory compliances along with the manufacturer under
these rules"

The health ministry has proposed changes in regulations to hold marketing companies accountable for drug product quality.

At present a drug manufacturer is responsible for product quality and labelling while marketing companies require a licence to sell and stock goods.

This amendment shall come into force on the 1st day of March, 2021
