Medicos against test for ‘Dr’ tag
- Nearly 15,000 students from 22 medical colleges of the state will hold a protest against the National Exit Test (NEXT) on February 1 by forming a human chain. The demonstration is against the decision of National Medical Commission to make the exam mandatory before starting medical practice.

- The draft Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill 2016 of the Union health ministry in December 2016 states that all the medical students will have to pass the NEXT after completion of MBBS course and one year mandatory internship.

- Dr Yogendra Modi, president of Gujarat Chapter of Indian Medical Association, said on Wednesday that the new rule says medical students are required to pass a common exit test before they can use the 'doctor' title.....
