It’s a common disease manifestation of childhood,also seen in adulthood and elderly. Presented with generalised body swelling.Most common lab.finding is 24hrs urine protein excretion which is > 3.5gms
Clinical triads of Hypertension Edema proteunuria of nephrotic range with hypoalbuminemia and hyperlipidemia.
Patients with( nephrotic syndrome) may have
1• Iron-resistant microcytic hypochromic anemia due to transferrin loss.
2• Hypocalcemia as a consequence of vitamin D deficiency due to enhanced
urinary excretion of cholecalciferol-binding protein.
3• An increased susceptibility to infection from urinary loss and increased
catabolism of immunoglobulin.
4. Loss of complement factor is another cause of susceptibility to infections.
