Now roast potatoes could cause cancer, say health advisers
The humble roast potato has been targeted by health campaigners who say it could cause cancer. Cooking food with high starch content, like potatoes, at high temperatures may be linked to tumours.

Millions who roast, bake, fry or toast are thought to be at risk from a chemical produced when food is cooked at over 248F (120C). The hazard is sufficiently great that the new public health campaign urges people to eat food of a “golden yellow or lighter” colour.
