This week's poll objective is to know the variation in opinion of doctors about - Hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis for Covid-19.

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ, an old anti-malarial drug) has been in limelight in recent weeks as a potential treatment for Covid-19.

~ On June 13, 2020: Health ministry advised that the HCQ should be used as early as possible in course of COVID-19 treatment and should be avoided in severe cases, in the latest revised clinical management protocol for COVID-19

~ Next on June 15, 2020: FDA revoked emergency authorization of HCQ based on emerging scientific data which determines this drug as unlikely to be effective in treating COVID-19.

~ Later on June 17, 2020: Despite FDA's revoke, Indian health authorities has decided to continue using the prophylactic despite FDA’s decision.

*Other options: Scientists have been investigating a plethora of drugs that may be repurposed to fight COVID-19, which includes Remdesivir, Lopinavir & Ritonavir, Ivermectin, Tocilizumab, Dexamethasone & other antivirals.
