Last week we took a poll to find out doctor's opinions on "Use of Hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis for Covid-19."

And as a response 105 doctors & medical students took the poll, out of which 65.7% of were doctors & 34.3% of were medical students.

Major specialties that participated were General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dentistry, and others.

The majority of doctors believe Hydroxychloroquine should be continued to use as per the health ministry's protocol. In contrast medical students suggest going for other options which include Ivermectin, Azithromycin, Doxycycline, Dexamethasone.

We have analyzed the results and are presented in the posters attached below.

Here’s a snippet of their opinions, in their own words…

"Dexamethasone may be working well in the patients under ventilators as well." ~ General Medicine

"I myself taking HCQ as per MOHFW protocol. I think it would be good to continue to prescribe as a prophylaxis measure." ~ Ayurvedic Medicine

"We have yet to prove it's [HCQ] effectiveness by various studies." ~ Internal Medicine
