Mumbai hospital performed a bypass surgery on a 67-year-old patient using robots, a technique which is back after four years for cardiac procedures as it was nearly discontinued in the country for its limited advantage over traditional methods. It has given tremendous outcome in gastroenterology, urology, gynaecology and oncology procedures but its usefulness in heart surgeries is extremely limited. Its best use has only been for single artery grafting, whereas in India we mainly see the involvement of multiple vessels.
