SC upholds admissions by deemed universities for MBBS/BDS
In a big relief to deemed universities of Maharashtra and Kerala, the Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to quash the admission conducted by them for MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of their own counselling by defying government's decision for centralised counselling.

Taking into account the fact that admission for more than 80 percent seats have been already done and classes have started in some of the deemed universities in Maharashtra, a bench of Justices A K Sikri and L Nageswara Rao upheld the admission but restrained them from holding further counselling for taking students for the remaining seats...
