Patients of Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) may be more susceptible for the development of immune thrombocytopenia than the general population, for which many hypotheses have been generated. However, till date, only a few cases of thrombocytopenia in CdLS have been described; only four reports being from neonates. Here, we describe a case of severe, symptomatic and idiopathic neonatal thrombocytopenia in CdLS from India, which remitted spontaneously without any serious sequel.
