An otherwise healthy 49-year-old white man, originally diagnosed with a left optic disc astrocytoma 15 years previously, was referred because of acute visual blurriness in the left eye. Visual acuity was 20/20 and fundoscopy confirmed the presence of a pale mulberry-like tumor adjacent to the optic disc and surrounded by an arc of subretinal hemorrhage. Fluorescein angiography failed to demonstrate a choroidal membrane or aneurysm. Observation after 2 months showed that most of the hemorrhage has resolved. To the best of our knowledge, astrocytoma-related subretinal hemorrhage was not previously reported. However, a conservative approach may be beneficial, with the expectation of spontaneous resolution....
