Successful Management Of Ileostomies In An Infant With Abdom
Abstract
A 13-month-old child presented to our burn center with 50% total body surface area burns, including burns over his entire abdomen. During the initial resuscitation and treatment of these burns, he had complications from his injuries, necessitating emergency bowel resection and stoma placement. Care of the child’s abdominal wounds were difficult secondary to leakage of intestinal contents onto the laparotomy incision impairing healing.
