There is a close association between genital prolapse and urinary incontinence (UI). It has been reported that after prolapse surgery a considerable number of patients were cured of their UI. However, it was observed that most patients became incontinent during long-term follow-up after sacrocolpopexy, sacrospinous fixation, and even after vaginal hysterectomy.
