Preventive therapy with antibiotic -- levofloxacin will help in reducing the infection by more than 70% that is caused due to drop in WBCs during early weeks of chemotherapy.

Researchers also found that Levofloxacin will help in reducing hospital acquired infections. In addition, they also found no increase in antibiotic resistance, while few were worring about proactive antibiotic treatment promoting drug resistance in children.
