This is regarding the demand for hospital beds with oxygen supply.

It has been noticed in the past that people with excess calcium in their blood have enlarged hearts, lungs etc.  We can infer that calcium intake increases the lung size and facilitates easier breathing.

So we can administer a few doses of calcium (plus Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin D) to people waiting in line for beds, as a temporary measure until alternative arrangements are made, except to those who have cardiovascular problems, blood-clotting etc.  It may be noted that a few doses of calcium may not cause any serious problems / side effects, and calcium is easily available and inexpensive.

So you mean Calcium will instantly act as Lung Dilator? Few doses of Calcium will suddenly increase lung size? It' s evidence based or eminence based? The reference you have given is a long term affect and noway, no how can be used to draw a conclusion like this...

The increase in size of the lung due to a few doses of calcium can only be in the range of nano-meters  – not in mm or cm., and this is likely to last only for a few days.  But the effect will be there every time the patient takes a breath, and the cumulative effect over a few hours might be sufficient to give temporary relief to the patient. A more important point is that calcium can help resist the shrinking effect of factors that cause the breathing problem.     N.VENKATACHALAM 11/5/2021... Read more
