The COVID-19 Pandemic & harsh circumstances of Kashmir from the last seven years has had a significant impact on everyone’s mental health. from frontline workers to the general public, the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has caused multiple people to feel anxious, stressed, and upset. Fear, stress is normal when we are facing uncertainty or the unknown.
So it is understandable that people are experiencing fear during this covid pandemic. No doubt we are spending quality time with our family and having good communication with them during this lockdown, but people's are stuck at the same place for a quite long time this made people feel like they are living in a cage And also people are facing issues such as changes in daily lives, few losing jobs leading to the financial crisis which affected the minds of many well-being people's We humans are social animals We love to explore, meet new people but nobody was allowed to step out of their homes, everything was stopped for a while and this period is the biggest cause of mental depression
Everyone reacts differently to stressful conditions. It depends on your background, your social support from family or friends, your financial situation, your health and emotional background, the community you live in, and many other factors. Mostly the vulnerable population is undergoing stress more. You know we all have times in our life when we get disappointed, and the answer to being disappointed is to get reappointed. We all have times when we’re discouraged, but the answer is to then find a way to be encouraged. Just like light always overcomes darkness, positive things always overcome negative things. Depression is like a sunken place, a low place, a dark and an unpleasant place. And now that you are in depression, the first thing that is going to knock on your door is “SELF-PITY” plz make sure you don’t fall for it. There’s nothing worse than spending a whole day sitting around in a half-dark room, feeling sorry for yourself Trust me I've been there, done that!! and it’s not going to help you in any good way. Start searching your heart, and it’ll show you, what you need to do. And of course, pray to god, Don’t expect things to change magically, instead, be willing to do what God is asking you to do, and this thing will change your situation.
It is important for each and every one of us to reach out and express what we feel during these pressing times this can be done by communicating more often with friends and family, and also by providing support to loved ones when necessary.Ensuring Physical Health It is also extremely important to take care of one’s physical health. Physical and mental health are two interconnected concepts. Hence, monitoring one’s exercise, activity, sleep quality and nutrition intake becomes extremely important. It is always advised to dedicate a part of the day (between hour to 3 hours) to some physical activities to feel more fresh and happy. the first step towards taking care of your mental health is to understand that you are not alone in this.
